M6 for North Wales?
The choice of primary destination on the southbound M6 is odd, to say the least. North Wales is only served by accessing the M56 and would normally be expected to feature as a subsidiary destination in the same way as Chester, also on the sign. Why not simply Birmingham, "The Midlands" or even "The South"? As is evident, the motorway here is 4 lanes wide, a by-product of early 1990s duplication of Thelwall Viaduct.
