Chapel of Our Lady of the Vale
Part of the Convent here, which provides a place of prayer and devotion for the Care Home residents, staff and nuns, but also offers weekly Mass on Thursdays open to all comers in the Bowdon Vale area. There was a time - when priests from St Vincent's, Altrincham, were plentiful - that Mass was celebrated daily, but this was reduced to Sundays and Thursdays, and now to only one day per week. The Sunday service was well attended by Catholics from Hale, Altrincham and Bowdon and there was an active choir comprising both nuns and parishioners.

Bowdon Houses (9)
Lady-of-the-Vale Care Home with the adjoining Convent of St Emilie (red brick). The Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Apparition are an aging and depleted community who are now in need of care themselves rather than nursing others. To the left, also joined to the main house, is the Chapel where Holy Mass is said for the nuns and residents every Thursday morning.
