St Mary's Church, Bowdon
The Church of St Mary the Virgin, in the village of Bowdon is designated as a Grade II* listed building by English Heritage.
There has been a church on the site since at least as early as the time of the Domesday Book. It is likely that a new church was built in the 14th century and remodelled in the 16th century. The church was completely rebuilt between 1858 and 1860, although the 16th-century roofs of the aisles were retained and incorporated into the new structure.
