New Town House, Buttermarket St, Warrington
I do like a bit of brutalist architecture and they don't come much more ugly/beautiful than New Town House; a concrete monstrosity of the highest order.

St Mary and Buttermarket Street
The Roman Catholic church of St Mary in Buttermarket Street was the last church to be designed by E.W. Pugin before his early death in 1875 at the age of 40. The church was opened in 1877. Buttermarket Street contains several attractive Georgian buildings and in 1972 was designated a conservation area.

Krakow Polish shop, Warrington
Built in 1817, this building will have housed many businesses in the last two centuries. Now it's a Polish shop and, in these strange times with the media's preoccupation with the rise of nationalist hate crime, it is relief to see that, rather than hurl a brick through its windows, the people of Warrington are content to allow business as usual.

Society of Friends Meeting House
This is the peaceful garden at the rear of the Society of Friends Meeting House established around 1720. The family of Joseph Crosfield who established the soap and chemical manufacturing business in Warrington had been Quakers since its beginnings in the 17th century.

A little light relief, Horrocks Lane, Warrington
At the junction of Horrocks Lane and Scotland Street in Warrington town centre. A bit of fly-tipping? An art installation? Or are the staff toilets at Rohans School Uniform suppliers just VERY basic?
