Former cinema
On the corner of King Street and Queen Street. It looked as if the building had been set on fire as the roof is completely missing.

Platforms 1 and 2, Earlestown Station
Earlestown Station lies on the former Liverpool and Manchester Railway, which was opened on 15 September 1830. This is a view of platforms 1 and 2 which serve the Northern Rail services between Manchester Piccadilly and Liverpool. The surviving station buildings were constructed around 1835. The waiting room on the Liverpool-bound platform is the oldest station building in the world still in passenger service, although its function is now limited to providing shelter from the rain under its canopy.

Record-breaking waiting room, Earlestown railway station
The station building on platform 2 is not open to the public, but one can still wait outside it, beneath the canopy. This station building is the oldest one in the world, which is still in passenger service. I took a few brief moments to wait beneath its canopy, myself.
