Apartments, Shaw Street
New blocks of flats line both sides of Shaw Street, quite a contrast to the many terraced streets around, one of which can be seen in the gap. The vacant land in front adjoins the railway.

Apartment living comes to St Helens
New flats (hurry - only a few left!) alongside the St Helens to Wigan railway line. The view of the flats may well be better than the view from them.

Old St Helen's motorbus
This preserved bus was chartered as part of a weekend to celebrate 50 years of the Liverpool University Public Transport Society. It is seen outside its current home - the North West Museum of Road Transport. This is housed in the former Hall Street tram depot, one of the few depots in the UK to have housed successively horse trams, electric trams, trolleybuses and motorbuses.

North West Museum of Road Transport
A large collection of road vehicles, mainly buses, is housed in the former Hall Street tram depot. This is an entirely volunteer run organisation, although a lottery grant helped with the refurbishment of this part of the building.

St Helen's trolleybus
The last remaining St Helen's trolleybus is on temporary display from its normal home at the Sandtoft Transport Centre near Doncaster in the North West Museum of Road Transport. This is the former St Helen's Corporation Hall Street tram depot. Some surviving tram rail can just be seen - the last tram ran in 1934.
