Egham station: new and old footbridges
I guess that the newer footbridge in the foreground dates from the same time as the present station buildings (1985). The older one in the background is no longer linked to the station platforms but is still used by pedestrians to get across the railway when the level crossing barriers are down.

Egham station: passing trains
The Juniper train on the left was the 10.50 limited-stop service from London Waterloo to Reading. See Image for the type of train that operated the same service a generation ago. The one at right is an older (1980s) class 455 unit on a stopping train from Weybridge to Waterloo.

Opened in 1856 by the London & South Western Railway on the line from Staines to Reading. View south west towards Virginia Water and Reading. The modern station building is on the right but hidden behind the footbridge.
