The Splash, River Ash, Shepperton
This is an area locally called The Splash. It is where Watersplash Road crosses the River Ash. A short low footbridge makes it possible to ford the river at this shallow point. The photographer was standing on the bridge. The river is often only a few inches deep at this point, so, in the past, before the footbridge was built, a horse and cart could have crossed here. This is a useful shortcut in the area.

River Ash in Littleton (4)
The river flows very sluggishly here through what were once the grounds of Littleton House. The house still exists but much of the estate was subsequently developed to create Shepperton Studios. This is the view looking downstream from Squire's Bridge. The 507000 Easting grid line runs down the centre of the bridge so the view in the opposite direction Image is in the kilometre grid square to the west.
