Boats moored at Platt's Eyot, near Hampton
Seen from the Thames bank at West Molesey. The boat nearest the camera is the 'Bairn's Pride' - apparently an old fishing vessel, of Scots origin. In the distance can be seen the bridge linking Platt's Eyot with the mainland.

'Bairn's Pride' moored at Platt's Eyot, Hampton
From her appearance my guess was that 'Bairn's Pride' was once a fishing boat, and her name suggested a Scots origin. A quick web-search revealed nothing specific about her history, though Otter Marine (who have premises on Platt's Eyot) describe her as an 'ex fishing vessel'; and it seems that the name 'Bairn's Pride' was a traditional one in the Scottish fishing fleet. In the background can be seen the bridge linking Platt's Eyot with the mainland, and part of the water-works at Hampton. Photo taken from the Surrey bank at West Molesey.
