Stokesley has a wealth of fine buildings from this period. Before Middlesbrough became the major centre locally, it was of more importance than now, second only to Northallerton in the North Riding.

Houses on West Green
The west end of Stokesley High Street merges into West Green where the character of the town changes from busy shopping street to a residential area around a tree lined green. There are plenty of interesting buildings, including this row of brick built 18th century houses.
