Kent Gate
A small alley connecting North Road with the High Street and named after the wrought iron gate on the left hand side which dates from between 1730 and 1760 and is in the style of William Kent the eminent architect and furniture designer. Originally one of a pair the gate was moved here before 1839.

Part jewellers and part tea rooms, this building looks as though it was once a public house. The tea rooms are 'The Angel', which adds weight to this theory.
