A174(T) - flow merging of traffic on the west-bound slip road at Marton
The merging arrangement shown here allows traffic from the direction of Middlesbrough (right-hand lane) to merge with traffic from Marton (left-hand lane) as it joins the A174 Trunk road from the A172. Marton road bridge is just to the right of where this photograph was taken.

Mid-day traffic at Marton Shops
The large number of traffic lights in the Marton area creates something of a 'bottle-neck' in relation to traffic flow. In this picture, the down-flow towards the Middlesbrough direction is being held up by the pedestrian crossing near to where the bus is located. Marton shops can be seen in the background of the photograph and Marton Estate Square is just to the left.

Traffic flow at Marton Interchange
The white van shown in this picture is using the slip lane to enter the A174(T) west-bound traffic flow. The blue lorry shown in the right-hand side of the picture has left the A174(T) trunk road and is waiting at the traffic lights in order to turn right into the south-bound flow of traffic towards Marton shops.

Traffic queue on Stokesley Road, Marton
At peak periods the traffic on Stokesley Road, Marton can be quite horrendous. Motorists and local residents who have to cope with it often refer to queues like the one shown above as the 'Marton crawl'.
