Open land beside the Whitby line
An extensive open space beside the railway to Whitby seen from the footbridge over the line. The distinctive outline of the Transporter Bridge can just be seen on the skyline.

Footbridge near Marton Station
This path close to James Cook Hospital and Marton Station carries the status of bridleway and forms part of an extensive network of cycleways in Middlesbrough. The bridge crosses the Middlesbrough to Whitby line.

James Cook (University Hospital) railway station, Middlesbrough
Opened in 2014 by Network Rail on the line from Middlesbrough to Whitby.

The Middlesbrough to Whitby railway line
Runs directly behind James Cook University Hospital. A bank (from which the photograph was taken) has been created between the railway and hospital, perhaps to create a sound buffer for patients. Middlesbrough Transporter Bridge can be seen in the middle horizon.
