Compressor engine, Fishburn Coking Works
A Belliss & Morcom steam engine direct coupled to a Belliss & Morcom coke oven gas compressor. Built c1952, stopped 1986 and believe scrapped 1987. A whole load of these were installed in coke works in the north-east in the mid-1950s. All now gone.

Gas compressor, Fishburn Coking works
This is a Bryan Donkin steam driven gas compressor with the gas cylinders above the steam cylinders. Was installed 2nd hand in about 1965 and stopped by 1970/1. Believed scrapped 1987.
This site is flat.

This is now an empty patch of land. The coal bunker is to the right, the battery is in the middle and the quench tower is to the left. Looks too quiet to be functioning.
