House above Hole Wyke
A very attractive location, and far enough back from the coast to avoid erosion problems for a few years yet. This is in the hamlet of Boulby, and is probably a much photographed location because there is very little else accessible in this square. In the distance is Staithes Image

Foundations of Tin City, Boulby Ironstone Mine
The Boulby Ironstone Mine was established in 1903 on what was effectively a green field site. Accommodation therefore had to be provided for the miners. This was done using the latest building technique of corrugated steel sheeting (similar to the Mine Office Image]). Known locally as Tin City the accommodation comprised forty cottages and a school. One cottage became a shop and another a chapel. The last residents were rehoused in the new Coronation Road in Loftus in 1937. Planters and bales
There was a colourful display of planters outside the entrance to this farm. There was also a pile of silage bales. All overlooking the sea.
