Penfold-style pillar box
Located in Milton Street. This was the standard design for pillar boxes between 1866 and 1879. Red was adopted as the standard colour, replacing the earlier green. In 1990 a replica Penfold was introduced and erected in designated conservation areas, places of historic interest and tourist attractions.
