This was the second staging post for Lt Lapenotiere to change horses on his ride to the Admiralty in London, bearing news from Falmouth of the victory at Trafalgar and the death of Admiral Lord Nelson in 1805.

Metal plates attached to stone post by the UC road (was A30), in parish of ST ENODER (RESTORMEL District), Fraddon, North of Blue Anchor Inn, in stone wall, on East side of road. Truro iron plate, erected by the Truro turnpike trust in the 19th century.
