Newquay Station, 1964
The size of the station, with 3 platform faces, is a reminder of the long distance traffic which used to arrive at the station in the summer, particularly from London and the West Midlands. This is emphasised by the presence of a Warship locomotive which could well have been working beyond the junction with the main line at Par. This is D863 'Warrior', one of the Type 43 batch built by the North British Locomotive Company.
