Devoran village centre
The road ahead along Carclew Terrace once carried the upper branch of the Redruth and Chasewater Railway as a horse-drawn tramway to the old terminus at Point Quay. To the right, the village hall car park and beyond this the hall itself, formerly the railway workshops.

Devoran Village Hall
The village hall was formerly the workshops of the Redruth and Chasewater Railway. On entering the village, the railway split into three: the line to the wharves and docks ran to the right along Quay Road, a spur ran into the workshops and the upper branch (which became a horse-drawn tramway down to Point) ran to the left behind the workshops and in front of the houses of Carclew Terrace.

Devoran Village Hall
This village hall was originally a railway workshop for the 4' gauge Redruth and Chasewater Railway. This railway was the first true railway in Cornwall and operated from 1824 to 1915.
