Pedn Olva Walk
Looking over the upper shore to the sea wall and buildings on Pedn Olva Walk. The shiny black boulders appear to be a basalt or dolerite (microgabbro) with no relevance to the local bedrock geology because they are rock armour. I am indebted for this information to the Environment Agency for their fine catalogue of damage needing repair after the major storms of 2014. They are certainly not granite or slate.
