Probus - Church of St Probus
The church of St Probus* in the eponymously named village dates from the C15th though the first vicar here was as early as 1300. The tower is in an unusual style with pierced granite bell openings, but the main body of the church has Perpendicular period windows. Though mostly dating from the C15th & 16th it was restored by G.E.Street in 1850 and extended by St Aubyn in 1904.

Probus - Church of St Probus - The Tower
The tower is the tallest (at 108') and most ornate medieval tower in Cornwall. It is of 3 stages and was begun c.1523. It has unusual pierced granite bell openings. See Image] for more information about the church.

Probus - Top of church tower
A close view of the tope of the lofty tower of the church of St Probus & St Grace in the village of Probus. This tower was built between 1523 and 1610 and stands 125' 10" (38.35m) tall - making it the tallest tower of any Cornish parish church.
