Back Lane, Hugh Town, St. Mary's
Serving the rear of the properties in both Higher Strand and Church Street. Now limited to pedestrian only access from the eastern end. Newer developments at the rear of the houses (such as "The Aft Cabin" on the right) provide simple, but very comfortable self-catering holiday accommodation in great demand from the tourists. Beats camping when the weather turns bad!

Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust offices
Close to the junction of Church Road an Higher Strand. The Duchy of Cornwall owns practically all of the Isles of Scilly and has handed over all the uninhabited islands and much other land to the control and care of the wildlife trust.

The Old Five Islands School, Carn Thomas, St Mary's
The school is the wood and glass building in the centre of the picture. To get a good view of the school I had to take this from across the Town Bay, from the deck of the Scillonian in the harbour! The school will soon be moving to a new site at Nowhere, near Old Town, in September - maybe even by the time this picture appears. See Image
