The Egyptian House, Chapel Street, Penzance
This extraordinary terraced house had its egyptian facade created in the 1830's, a time when interest in egyptology was high. It has been restored to its original colours.

Union Hotel
A view looking northeast across Chapel Street to the Union Hotel, where the death of Admiral Nelson was first announced in 1805. To the rear of the building is the Georgian Theatre, built around 1786 and possibly one of the oldest remaining Georgian theatres in the country.

Egyptian House, 6-7 Chapel Street, Penzance
Grade I listed. Listing number 1143147. Early C19 stucco Egyptian extravagance. 3 storeys. 3 windows Battered half round corded pilasters, windows and glazing bars. Lotus bud columns flanking entrance. Coved cornices above windows. 2 obelisk caryatids. A coat of arms crowned by an eagle. Heavy coved crowning cornice.

Acorn Theatre
Originally Parade Street Methodist Church. Building dates from 1899 replacing an earlier church founded 1851. It closed in 1968. In 1979 it became Penzance Arts Centre.
