Year 1827 on a Leskinnick Terrace wall, Penzance
The year 1827 above the old water conduit head in the wall of 37 Leskinnick Terrace dates it to the reign of King George IV, ten years before the accession of Queen Victoria. Edgar A. Rees's book Old Penzance states that in 1841 a woman was fined six shillings and sixpence for washing clothes here. Grade II listed (as Conduit Head in Wall of No 37) in 1974. The Lamp & Whistle pub http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4981813 is on the left.

Penzance, station and harbour 1995
View SE from Chyandour Cliff. The locomotive on the Up express in the foreground is Class 47 Brush/Sulzer Co-Co Diesel No. 47.632. [The history of the Class 47's, first built 9/62, is so complex with its numerous variants that I am unable to sort out the life-story of this particular one]. Across the harbour can be seen the 'Scillonian III', the passenger vessel serving St Mary's (Scilly), April - November.
