Erected by the Local Highways Board in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : REDRUTH / 5 / MILES : : HELSTON / 5 / MILES : Grade II listed. Bus shelter in Burras
In the centre of the village, this is also a communications centre with a notice board and further notices on the pole, several signs on the roadsign post and posters on the windows of the shelter. There is also a modern milestone (Redruth 5 miles). The spray-painted "CR" on the window also appears on Google's Streetview dated 2011, but not on the earlier Geograph picture Image
