The Five Pilchards Inn, Porthallow
The information board nearby shows that it was called simply "The Inn" in the 1890s A photograph shows the landlord Samuel Southey sitting in his Pony-cart outside what was to become "The Five Pilchards" Samuel was also the village blacksmith as well as slaughtering animals in the inn's outbuildings.
