This is still shown as a public footpath down the coast on OS maps, but on the highway authority maps it is stopped up and replaced by a new route skirting the quarry area to the south.

The closed road into Dean Quarries
Dean Quarries closed in 2005, but continues to raise local feelings over proposals for a 'super-quarry' and a 'eco-village' of holiday homes. Fortunately nothing has changed except for nature moving in. See: http://www.abandoned-britain.com/PP/deanpoint/1.htm
