Do Not Feed The Birds
The notice at the Station Restaurant certainly gets it right. We saw a few people trying to eat take-aways being pestered by gulls. The birds can be really persistent, knowing that an easy meal can be obtained from unwary tourists.

The jettied first floor of a former "merchant's house, refurbished as a Stamp Office, now a cafeteria with house above. Late C16/early C17, refurbished 1901 for RC Cranford" and hence listed as "Cranfords Restaurant" http://www.imagesofengland.org.uk/Details/Default.aspx?id=387244&mode=adv . This is the top floor of the building shown in Image, described at http://list.english-heritage.org.uk/resultsingle.aspx?uid=1208895&searchtype=mapsearch , But there's no mention of the strange mustachioed figures on either side, who appear to have breasts.
