Spitfire flowerbed memorial
The flower bed in the full size shape of a WWII spitfire is in memory of Flt.Lt. Frederick Ernest Denston, 1920 – 1989. Ernest who flew spitfires along the Torbay coastline just before D-Day. He said that if he survived, he would retire to Torbay, which he did. His widow with the cooperation of Torbay Council constructed the flowerbed in his memory.
