Footway closed, Newton Road
See Image]; here's the next barrier and the pavement ahead looks like unset tarmac. Mind you, you can always walk in the road, rather like the two girls who just passed me, with no attempt at social distancing.

Footway closed, Newton Road
You can easily skip round this and continue on this side of the A3022 along the pavement for about 70 metres, but then the pavement is closed as they are relaying it. The reason for the notices being placed here is that there is a pedestrian crossing at the traffic lights beside them. Mind you, many pedestrians will be trying to get to Asda which means recrossing the road at the next lights where there is no pedestrian crossing.
