Morgan Avenue, Torquay
Gables galore at the lower end of Morgan Avenue, where it joins Tor Hill Road. It is only a few yards to the town centre, and, not surprisingly, there are many bed and breakfasts and guest houses.

Phill Bond's Tattoo Studio in Torquay
The tattoo studio is at 42A Tor Hill Road. The word tattoo (a design marked on the skin by pricking in indelible dyes) is of Polynesian origin. Ta-tau is a word in the Tahitian, Samoan and Tongan languages, and ta-tu in the Marquesan language. This word has no connection with the word tattoo used for a military entertainment, with marching, etc which is of Dutch origin.

Tattoo parlour, Torquay
Another view of the premises shown in Image I was interested in the apparently unfortunate wording "Body piercing open". The lane on the right leads to the health centre car park.
