Clarence House
The octagonal tower at the northwest end of an award-winning block of flats, which replaced a rather run-down hotel which had, nevertheless, sadly-missed period features. The building stands within the road fork formed by Avenue Road and Newton Road, across the junction from Torre Station, and the hotel would have been the focus of the long-vanished tram terminal here. The view here is from the foot of St Michael's Road.
