A neat terrace of polychrome brick, tucked away behind Lower Brimley.

The middle house of a group of three semi-detached villas in polychrome brick. Older houses such as these display polychrome brickwork, the hard cream Kingsteignton brick providing greater strength at corners, window and door surrounds and, occasionally garden wall plinths and copings. Here (and notably in Higher Brimley) there are courses of studded cream bricks. Looking at the very regular stone dressings I wonder if these are of an artificial stone, perhaps even Coade stone, for which all the ingredients are found locally.

The street makes a slight wiggle here.

A terrace of 13; superstition is partly assuaged by naming the house at this end "Belgrave House", and the remainder numbered 1-12.

The nearer is the end of Belgrave Terrace, but has the address Heywoods Road; the further house faces Lower Brimley Road.

Note the studded bricks in the bands of cream brickwork (probably the hard Kingsteignton brick), also the course of orange bricks laid skew between cream courses on the right. The cream bricks on edge in the coping are perforated.
