Tomb of Capt. James Wallace & half-brother Thomas Luny
Captain Wallace served under Nelson at the Battle of Copenhagen 1801/1807. Thomas Luny (1759-1837) was a renowned and prolific marine artist who lived at a house in Teign Street from 1807. The tomb was erected by "his grateful neice [sic]", Wallace's daughter. The full inscription can be seen in Image The inconsequential location in an obscure corner of the cleared churchyard prompts the question: has the tomb been moved from its original position?
