Surviving fragments
Demolition of the once grand 4-star Palace Hotel is almost complete. Just one part of the hotel and some walls of the coach house remain standing today.
The site will be redeveloped to provide a new luxury hotel, with 38 detached houses in the former hotel's grounds.
