All that remains of Ilsington Manor
Situated in the churchyard of St Michael's church. Judging by the size of the remaining walls this must have been a very large building. There is an information board close by.

Ilsington: St Michael's Church
There has been a church on this site since the 11th century although the present cruciform building dates from the early 14th century with 15th century additions. In terms of area the parish is one of the largest in Devon. John Ford, the dramatist who wrote the controversial tragedy "'Tis Pity She's a Whore", was born in nearby Bagtor House and baptized in the church on 12 or 17 April 1586.
