Hawkmoor Cottages and phone box
The road on the right leads to Hawkmoor Park, a housing development on the site of a former tuberculosis sanatorium, which became a mental hospital

Gate at Hawkmoor Park
Just as I thought the footpath would be going through this gate, it veers off to the right. This is the edge of the vast wooded area of Shaptor Woods behind us.

Hawkmoor Park
The public footpath goes through an open area above the houses of Hawkmoor Park. From here there is a good view westwards, over the Bovey valley. Black Hill Image is the significant lump above the white chimney, with Hound Tor Image just visible beyond and to its right.
