Wemyss Ware at Bovey Pottery, Devon
A surprise for Scottish visitors like ourselves to see something from so close to home (Wemyss ware is made in Ceres, Fife
Image but no picture of the pottery or shop yet) in Devon. It turns out that the Bovey Pottery in 1930 brought the head Wemyss artist, Joseph Nekola, from Scotland to produce Wemyss Ware in Devon. For more information on Wemyss Ware http://www.wemyss-ware.co.uk/

Marble Machine, at House of Marbles
This machine, built in 1982 in the USA, is the largest of its type in its day. It has travelled over 10,000 miles and made 15 million marbles! A good insight into just how industrial toy manufacture can be.

Possibly the largest marble run in the world!!!
The largest of several marble runs by Alex Schmid of Switzerland. The old pottery buildings are now home to House of Marbles and Teign Valley Glass. Glass is still manufactured on the premises and this is integrated into the tourist experience with demonstrations and viewing of the process. A Museum, restaurant and shop are all offered on site to maximise tourist stay and spend in the one location.

Wall at Bovey Pottery
This detail of the wall gives an idea of the variety of its constituent pieces. Presumably any spare pieces from the pottery were used in construction.
