Plaque to Sir Frank Whittle
On the side of the house shown in Image The plaque was provided by the Retired Chartered Engineers' Club of Exeter. Sir Frank Whittle, who invented the turbojet engine, lived here for 14 years. A list of memorials and other plaques is at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Whittle#Memorials , but does not include this one.
