Modernising the Town Centre, Ashburton
This picture was taken during extensive roadworks in Ashburton town centre. They have used paviors to try and tart the road up a bit, but to be honest, I don't think it goes with the traditional buildings that well. The scheme over ran by several weeks and caused chaos in the town whilst it was carried out.

Ashburton - old woollen mill building
One of the few remnants of the town's industrial past as a centre of the West Country textile industry. The building incorporates a drying loft in the top floor. Similar structures may be seen in Buckfast and Buckfastleigh.

River Ashburn, Ashburton
Dating back to Saxon times the town has developed along the banks of the river Ashburn, (Ashburton - the settlement by the Ashburn stream). The stream now runs through the town.
