Beware pedestrians is painted on the tarmac of this nondescript, unnamed space behind the Market Square. There's a taxi rank to the right, entered from Sherborne Road, and the exit is to Courtenay Street on the left. Lloyds TSB Bank is behind the camera.

Lloyds Bank, Newton Abbot
Cherry & Pevsner describe this as "a busy classical display with paired Corinthian columns of white stone set against red standstone" - they mean "sandstone". It stands at the junction of Courtenay Street and Queen Street, overlooking a space through to the market. It also straddles a gridline.
