Newton Abbot: Church Road
The road links Torquay Road/East Street with Wolborough Church. Brick predominates in this and neighbouring streets. The light bricks, left, probably came from North Devon. Were the red bricks imported from Bridgwater, by the railway, which runs nearby?

A terrace of pleasant Victorian villa-style houses that climbs away from East Street, crossing the northing gridline just beyond the pink house.

Torquay Road, Newton Abbot
Taken from near the point where Mount Pleasant Road (arriving from the left) reaches the main road. However, at this point the side road and the T-junction, on the left of the photo, are some three or four metres higher than Torquay Road, above a wall.
On the right is a terrace behind raised gardens which occupies the north side of Torquay Road in between the two side roads of Devon Square.

Seen from Northernhay, this back alley climbs the hill between the rear of houses on Albion Hill (right) and Mount Pleasant Road (left). Within 25 metres of the camera, the northing gridline is crossed into SX8670.
