Residents only, Torquay
"Residents only: no public right of way" says the upper notice at what must once have been the rear entrance to the El Marino Hotel off Wellswood Path. Not sure what state a hotel resident would be in if he/she gained entrance by this means now. Nor am I sure when the El Marino Hotel ceased to exist.

Plaque, Hunsdon Road, Torquay
This circular relief plaque shows a woman milking a goat. Could it be connected to Amaltheia, who nurtured the infant Zeus? But there's no sign of an infant. The man is carrying a knife. Is the goat to be sacrificed?

Villa entrance, Stitchill Road, Torquay
The gate piers and gate are listed https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1218673?section=official-list-entry although the latter has been removed. The blue plaque on the left commemorates a stay by Isambard Kingdom Brunel and his wife from July to November 1848 in the villa glimpsed up the drive. The named Vomero, it is also listed https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1280008?section=official-list-entry : "One of the earlier Torquay villas".
