The village sign at Crockham Hill
The Crockham Hill village sign features a likeness of Octavia Hill, social reformer and co-founder of the National Trust, who lived in the village. Her remains are buried in the churchyard of the nearby Holy Trinity Church which also features in the sign - see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octavia_Hill for more information about her life.
