Wickham Manor dates from the 16th century and was once owned by William Penn, the founder of Pennsylvania in 1682. It is now owned by the National Trust and is at the centre of a 750 acre farm. It is seen here from the 1066 Country Walk as it approaches Winchelsea.

Passed by the 1066 Country Walk long distance footpath, this used to be a former home of the quaker William Penn - founder of Pennsylvania.

Photo taken from the footpath close to New Gate,(one of the three surviving town gates of Winchelsea).I believe that Wickham Manor Farm is farmed by a tenant from the National Trust.
