Manor Cottages
Half timbered cottages on the south west of the B2244 in Sedlescombe Street. Manor Cottages, a Grade 1 listed building, has been described as one of the finest timber-framed buildings in Sussex. It was built between the 15th and 17th centuries and is divided into five dwellings. The tree in front of it is listed by Rother District Council as a 'Tree of Local Importance'.

Manor Cottages, Sedlescombe Street
This Grade I Listed building is much obscured when leaves are on the trees in front of it. The earliest part of the structure is said to date from 1420, but it has been added to and altered since. Many details are given in Beryl Lucey (1978) "Twenty Centuries in Sedlescombe".

Looking south down the B2244 into Sedlescombe Street. The pink flowers centre right beside Rose Cottage are Nerines, or Bowden lilies, in full flower in early November. They have been a feature here every autumn for some years.
