Queen Elizabeth Close, Battle
The shrub with the orange flowers left of centre is Berberis darwinii. Discovered in Chile in 1835 by Charles Darwin. Vernacular names include michay, calafate, quelung and Chilean barberry. It is a serious threat as an invasive species in New Zealand and other parts of the world (but not in UK). The berries are edible but very acid.
