Low Tide on River Tillingham
This view is from the road bridge over the tidal part of the River Tillingham. A sluice on the other side of the bridge, controlled by the Environment Agency, adjusts fresh river water and sea water levels as necessary.

A former public house once called Smeatons Stores that still retains its old sign. Named after John Smeaton an engineer who attempted to save Rye Harbour in the late 18th century. Have found no data regarding closure.
