Southlands School, Dymchurch Road, New Romney in 1968
This shows the rear of the school which is now The Elms http://www.walker-qualityhomes.co.uk/completed-projects/the-elms/ The gathering at the school was part of the party which included Sir Robert Menzies (the man with white hair to the right of the lady wearing the blue hat) who at the time was the Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports. The party had just arrived from the Town Hall in the High Street.

Looking towards the town centre from the junction with Craythorne Lane. The large quantity of parked cars is explained by the fact that the picture was taken on the day of the New Romney Country Fayre, whose PA system was audible from here.
