Ham Street station
On the Ashford to Hastings line, which - according to Dendy Marshall's 'History of the Southern Railway' - was opened by the old South Eastern Railway in 1851. By the look of things, the building was originally intended to double up as the stationmaster's house. Does it date from 1851, I wonder? Or perhaps rather later?

Ham Street station: view from the 'up' platform
The line is the Hastings to Ashford line, opened by the South Eastern Railway in 1851 - and never electrified. The view is roughly NNE, towards Ashford. Photo taken on a brilliant but breezy day in late September.
